the MN book says that Tula stopped production on 91/30's in early 1939, I have a '39 Tula and ,strangely, a 1940 Tula. both matching numbered. any thoughts on this? DM

No, Tula stopped production after 1940 to concentrate production of the SVT40. They shipped there inventory of incomplete rifles and parts to the Izhevsk arsenal. There where a few Tula barrels dated...

thats the kind of stuff we like to know about, thanks MillerTyme! Lapins book says that Tula concentrated on production of the AV-38 in 1939, and that production of 9130"s was resumed at Tula in 1942....
